I was going to open the door when my keys fell. I knelt down to grab them and when I got up I saw what I desired that much. Was he trying to get on my nerves or something? He perfectly knew that his eyes, his smile… everything drove me crazy. But there he was, already opening the door for me.
“Go on.” He moved his arm inviting me to get inside the hall, holding the door with a huge smile on his face. I couldn’t help turning red.
I walked forward lowering my head and smiling for myself. While I pressed the button of the lift I heard the door closing behind me. I was overcome by nerves. I prayed for the lift to be at the first floor so it could arrive rapidly.
The door opened and when I was already inside, he stopped it from closing.
“I also have to go up. There’s space for both of us, right?” he said.
“Yes, yes, I’m sorry…” I mumbled.
I leaned on the space next to the buttons, and he pressed number five still staring at me the whole time. That made me silent, and the glow in his eyes sent electric currents right under my skin.
Both of us stayed quiet until the elevator said ‘number 5’. At that moment I left his gaze and I decided to go and open the door. But something grabbed me form behind. His hand held my arm strongly.
“What are you doing?” I said, confused. “We’re already at our floor.”
“I want to show you something.”
He pressed number 10. The last floor. What on earth was he planning? I was already late; did he want to make the argument with my parents worse? I opened my mouth to tell him that he should let me go. But then he put his finger on my lips making me quiet.
Ding! Number 10. We arrived.
He opened the door, and this time he waited for me to get out, something that took its time.
“Can you please tell me why did we come here? Look, I’m already late, my parents…"
“Would you stop being that nervous, please? Just trust me."
Yeah. Right. Trust him. After all that yes-but-no thing that had been going on between us those last days I didn’t no what to think. However, I agreed and followed him up some stairs that took us to a small room. He turned on the light and opened a metal door that made an awful scratching-a-blackboard-with-chalk sound.
“Come on” he said. He extended his hand, and when I took it I suddenly felt calmed. “Close your eyes.”
“Are you nuts?”
“No, seriously, trust me, please.”
I closed them. He guided me for a few seconds and let go of my hand.
“Open them.”
